the costs of war…

What the Money for One Day’s Worth of the Iraq War Could Buy « Fort Awesome! – I would love to spend the money on schools, health care etc. However, if we don’t bring the Islamists to heel we will have the Taliban in our faces and then we won’t have anything worthwhile.

  1. The ‘Islamists’? The muslims….?….is this a crusade? We created al-qaida and funded Bin laden….everyone knows this. Invading iraq was exactly what they wanted….every civilian killed in iraq by u.s. forces gives the terrorists loads more propaganda in which to recruit more terrorists from a poorly educated, disenfranchised, and war weary society.
And Taliban in our faces? What does that mean? Don’t tell me you buy the Bush/Cheney rhetoric that if we leave iraq they’ll ‘follow us home’. That’s ridiculous. That would mean we’d have to be in iraq for an eternity to distract al qaida so they don’t ‘follow us home’.

  2. Yes, the Islamists. They do have the goal of world domination and I believe they would come over here and wreak havoc if they get the chance to do so.

  3. all i can say is i guess the scaremongering done by the bush administration worked. americans these days are utterly paranoid about security and safety when in reality they should be more concerned with education, spending, liberty curtailment and poverty.

  4. Not that I want to engage in arguing, but as I recall it was Islamists that came over here and rammed airplanes into buildings.

  5. I agree…we should have caught bin laden….but we ended up catching saddam hussein and then told some bullshit story about al qaida connections to justify a bullshit war.

  6. I’m with you all the way as far as wanting the war to end, no one who is even halfway sane thinks war is good.

  7. haha i guess i took you for someone your not, my bad. At least we can agree on that.
