progress report…

Yesterday and today I exceeded my calories limit by about 80 calories ! I’m not happy about that and will have to do better. Overall though I am doing quite well. I walked twice yesterday 35 minutes each time and did the same again today. Today I also worked out on my elliptical trainer for 30 minutes which is longer than I did before (20 minutes). Finally I am happy to note that since I started this program about 3 weeks ago, I have lost 11 lbs !!

  1. Congrats Dennis-it is a slow process, but you should feel GOOD about losing 11 lbs. Keep it up! You will have so much more energy as you DROP the excess BAGGAGE! I (like you) was 158 lbs. when I retired in 1993 at 5′ 8″. In about 5 years I was close to 200 and really depressed and angry at myself. I am now “stabilized” at about 165-170 lbs. and probably 5’7″(we shrink as we age LOL). When I gain more than 5 lbs. I go to the Commissary and buy about 10 HEALTHY CHOICE dinners and that is my main meal for about 2 weeks. I treat myself to a ham sandwich (or Turkey-both are low in fat) with LOTS of lettuce and tomato about mid morning-and that’s it for the day! I drop that 5 lbs. easily this way. Of course continue with the exercise. Good job! Take care, Smitty

  2. Thanks Smitty, I do feel lighter and not quite as bulky. I’m sure it will get even better as I progress. Yeah, the Healthy choice are one of my main items lately, along with Smart Ones.
