First of all let me state that my faith in Christ leads me to conclude that I will live forever but not life as we now know it here on Earth. Even so I am in no hurry to meet the Lord in Heaven; I have no desire to die.
For this question I will assume we are considering the ordinary life here on Earth. I would continue to get old, people I know would die off, life would become more difficult as I aged and everything changed around me. I don’t want to die but I know that eventually it is something we all need to do.
Even assuming I did not keep growing older and my social environment remained steady; I would still conclude that living forever would be an exercise in futility “Vanity, vanity, all is vanity, nothing new under the sun”.
We must first die and then we will be transformed and live forever with the Lord. This is what He said as recorded in John 12:24-26
“Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honour.”
I think that says it best…
