For me Twitter is not a great way to keep in touch with people because very few of the people I know are on Twitter. It can be a time waster of course but I look at it more as a news and information center. I follow many public figures, authors, theologians etc....
Does advertising influence my vote ?
Advertising influences my vote only insofar as the ads provide useful information on what the candidate wants to accomplish or has accomplished. I pretty much base my votes on my beliefs which tend to the left for the most part. An big exception is my pro-life stance; I abhor abortion. I used to be hawkish … Continue reading Does advertising influence my vote ?

“The mind of humanity both individually …
"The mind of humanity both individually and collectively is the ecosystem of the gods...." I conceived this thought this morning but I'm sure this idea did not originate with me. I'm certain that many would find the idea strange, illogical, or even heretical but I affirm this statement without compromising my Christian faith....

I've been lusting after a notebook computer I saw in Best Buy but the simple fact of the matter is that I am financially unable to buy it at the present time. futility of violence….
http://twitter.com/#!/DalaiLama/status/484588249948160 First reactions to challenges or confrontations are often violent. But the Dalai Lama is right that it is really not the best course of action. When I see the news on TV about all the people being killed in Afghanistan I see that war is such a ghastly waste....
BALLS ! HELL ! @#$%^ !
Sometimes swear words help communicate feelings and attitudes but if they are over used it just looks bad. I have to confess that I do use some salty language when speaking but generally avoid it when writing. Sometimes I will make it humorous to get my point across; for example I would write that I … Continue reading BALLS ! HELL ! @#$%^ !

At church this morning Pastor talked about men being spiritual leaders in their households rather than letting their wives fill that role. I agree with him but I do have a really important caveat: that this must not be used as an excuse for men to be heavy handed bullies...

I’ll list some of the sites I looked at…. simple links – this points to an entry on Leo’s tumblr about an artist who destroyed all his posessions to make a point about simple living and materialism. … Continue reading saturday morning meandering…..
